Covenant Woods Celebrates Grand Opening of Manor East
The symbol of Covenant Woods’ commitment to lifelong care is Manor East, a healthcare wing that has undergone a large-scale, $34 million, 3-phase expansion in 2018 and 2019. The staff and residents showcased the newly renovated facility at its grand opening celebration on August 22, 2019.
Renovation and expansion plans started in 2016 to ensure that the community’s independent living residents can transition into higher levels of care if needed. The expansion also allows local residents to enter assisted living, memory support and nursing care directly, and to come to the community for short-term Medicare stays.
With the third and final phase now complete, the updated center now offers 39 traditional assisted living suites and 21 memory support residences. In addition, there are 62 private skilled nursing care rooms.
The expansion also includes a number of new gathering spaces for residents and families, including new dining areas, common rooms and outdoor courtyards.
A new cutting-edge therapy area will provide Medicare Type A services, and new staff offices will be available for private conferencing with residents and families.
“The new Manor East healthcare building positions us for the future, to best meet the needs of residents moving through the continuum of care offered at Covenant Woods as well as those who move from the greater Richmond area and come directly into those levels of living,” said Carrie Davis, Healthcare Administrator at Covenant Woods.
