Hanover’s Perspective
Memorial Regional Medical Center Receives Elite Ranking by Healthgrades
Once again, Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center (MRMC) located in Mechanicsville, VA has been named as one of America’s 50 Best Hospitals by Healthgrades. In the 2019 ranking, MRMC is one of two Virginia hospitals to be named in the top 50 which places it in the top one percent of all hospitals in the nation.
Heathgrades bases these designations solely on clinical quality outcomes from a broad spectrum of 32 conditions and procedures. Being named as one of America’s 50 Best Hospitals requires a record of consistently providing overall clinical excellence and comprehensive quality care consistently for six or more consecutive years. Simply put, patients are more likely to have a successful treatment without major complications at America’s Best Hospitals.
Now celebrating 21 years of service, the award-winning Memorial Regional Medical Center opened its doors in 1998 to residents in suburban Hanover and Henrico Counties, rural Virginia’s Northern Neck, and the city of Richmond. The 224-bed acute-care hospital is located on an inviting 43-acre suburban campus and features a spectrum of health care services, including obstetrics, comprehensive cardiac care, wound care center and a 24-hour emergency room. A number of outpatient services, including radiation therapy and rehabilitation, in addition to physician practices, are available at Hanover Medical Park which will also be home to the future Bon Secours Memorial College of Nursing. The campus also includes an onsite day care facility as an attractive option for employees and is used as a recruitment tool to attract and retain top health care professionals.
In September, 2018, Leigh Sewell became CEO of Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center, Bon Secours Richmond Community Hospital and Bon Secours Memorial College of Nursing.
